Default Assassins Creed - Good but a little repetative

I picked up Assassins Creed for £9.99 from Play. A great price for a game which I've been looking to get for a while.

My first impression of the game was WOW. It's a great looking game. Great graphics and very smooth. At first I thought it would be similar to Drakes Fortune but they apart from the jumping on ledges etc, they are very different games. Drakes Fortune has a lot more cut scenes (which are actually enjoyable) and Assassins Creed has a bit more of a hack and slash feel to it at times.

I've been playing it for a few days now and I'm on memory block 4 (of 7 I believe). I've been enoying it but I'm at the stage where everything feels repetative. There really isn't much variety in the game. For example, in the cities your main tasks are to save citizens from thugs/soldiers, pickpocket people for information and climb viewpoints. And at the end of the level you have an assassination.

I am still enjoying it and for £9.99 it's a bargain however I'm starting to feel the way I did about Grand Theft Auto 4 when I got to about 60% into the game ie. it stopped being fun playing it and started to feel more like a chore. Don't get me wrong, most games feel a bit boring when you reach the 70% mark in the game but I think that this was a missed opportunity to make a classic. If they put more variety in the missions it would have been much better.

Again, can't complain for £9.99 and I'd still recommend it to you all though probably best to rent it for a week from blockbuster or something as there's no online or multiplayer so once you complete it there will be little reason to go back to it.

For those who haven't seen it, heres a video of the game to give you an idea of what it's about

Well I completed Assassins Creed tonight. It did get a little repetative but after levels 4 and 5, I was disappointed by how short levels 6 and 7 were.

The ending was also a bit brief and clearly setting it up for a sequal.

If you want to read more about the ending please read Assassin's Creed Ending Explained!

All in all it was a good game and well worth the £9.99 I paid for it.

I only played it on my friends machine, It seemed pretty good when I had a go, but I was only on it for about ten mins. I hate when games that should be excellent fall short. Its happened to me before when I've been waiting for a game and it turns out to be rubbish (doom 3, Halflife 2)
