wow, I was looking at them the other week to add to my music studio - but the ones I was looking at were selling for about £12, not the price of two top pc's =|
A few days ago someone purchased a gold Commodore 64 from ebay for a whopping €3,343.33 (which is about £2650/$4,739).
Apparently only a few hundred of these were made. According to EuroGamer, they were produced back in 1986 to celebrate the production of the one millionth C64 home computer to be manufactured at the German production plant. The sellers parents had won it at CeBit in Haover in 1987 and put it away in a closet.
Whilst the atari was my first ever games console, the c64 was the computer I had growing up so I have fond memories of it (briefly had the C16 before it but it broke!). Still, I don't think I'd pay 2 and a half grand for one!
Check out the ebay auction for more pics of this beauty!
