A few days Nintendo announced the details of the DSi, the next version of their hugely popular DS. This will be the 3rd version of the handheld since it launched way back in 2004 (I can still remember my brother bringing me back one from the States!).

It's going to be 12% thinner than the DS Lite but the GBA Advance slot will be removed, which probably won't be an issue for most gamers. It also has a .3mp camera.

Unfortunately CVG announced today that the handheld will be region locked. This is a bad decision in my opinion. It basically means that if I but the DSi and go to the USA for a holiday I can't but games at the airport or in shops etc.

It will be out next month in Japan and Spring/Summer the rest of the world.
