Call of Duty 4 Variety Map Pack

The new call of duty 4 maps came out on the PS3 on 24th April. I downloaded it on Friday night and have been playing it over the weekend. Overall, I’m pretty pleased with the purchase (the variety pack costs £6.99 via the playstation store and it’s 800 points on Xbox Live). The pack includes 4 new levels : Creek, Broadcast, ChinaTown and Killhouse.

Creek

Creek is a pretty big level with a huge creek in the middle of it. This level is all about sniping and you’ll find that it can be dangerous hanging around the top of the creek too long - I was picked off a few times whilst trying to get to a good sniping position myself.

Broadcast

Broadcast is based upon the TV station from the one player game. There is a house outside the station but most of the action takes place inside the small rooms inside the building. Although there are a few good sniping positions, I reckon a light machine gun is the best one to use.

ChinaTown

ChinaTown can be a crazy level at times. The level is smaller than Creek but you may find yourself getting killed from all angles as most of the buildings have two or even three levels. I sniped someone through a window and 2 seconds later someone else sniped me through a different level. My advice is to watch your back at all times (which can be difficult).

KillHouse

For some reason I still haven’t played Killhouse. It just never seemed to be in the rotation for me. I’m sure I’ll play it in the next few days though. From looking at it in this video, it looks like a fun level.

Call of Duty Game of the Year Edition

I read on the official site last week Infinity Ward will be releasing a ‘Game of the Year’ edition which has the new variety pack maps included. If you haven’t bought Call of Duty 4 yet then this will definately be a great purchase.

I’ll do my best to play KillHouse and let you know what it’s like.
