HP 2133 Mininote preinstalled with XP and upgrade rights to Vista

Yesterday I spoke about how RM have the sexy HP 2133 Mininote advertised on their website. I contacted them and asked if it was possible to buy the mininote with XP instead of Vista and I was very pleased with their response as it comes with both.

Martin Middleton emailed me back and said

The version of he MiniNote we sell has XP Pro Pre-installed with Upgrade rights to Vista Business.

This means that it comes with XP Pro installed but because we deal primarily with educational establishments, the license for this will also hold for Vista when/if they decide to upgrade.

For details of the MiniNote, please visit the following website:

Kind regards, Martin

This is great news in my opinion. The reasons for not getting the mininote are disappearing one by one!

Martin followed this up later on with this email.

Hi there

Just to clarify, you do not get Vista on this PC. It comes with XP.

However, to answer your question, usually if you are looking to reinstall software over a later version, it is necessary to clear that version from your system. This will probably be the case with XP and Vista.

However, if you require clarification on this, you could contact Microsoft directly.

Kind regards, Martin
