I've read a few rumours on the internet about Electronic Arts releasing their own games console in the future. Electronic Arts are the biggest game developer in the world and have been swallowing up smaller gaming companies in buy outs frequently in the last few years.

Peter Moore said in his interview with the Guardian the other day that one of the biggest factors of the dreamcast failing was the pull out of EA. They provide so many of the big name games of the 360, ps3 and wii that pulling out from those platforms would definately cause a big stir.

The next generation consoles shouldn't be out for another 3 or 4 years but it's interesting to think, will EA enter the mix? Will Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo be big players too?

Interesting thought and imagine if they did - pretty disastrous for the other consoles while at the same time Id be doubtful if EA could come up with anything better than the others. I hope they don't ever do it.

I'd welcome it. EA is a masssssive company so they definately have the cash behind them to take something like this on. I don't like the fact they are simply churning out many of the same games every year with minor tweaks but they have made some good games (like battlefield).

Ooh I hope they do! I'm interested to see what it'd be like!
