Anyone seen the new Voodoo Envy 133 (http://www.voodoopc.com/#/productsenvy). Apparently its the thinnest laptop out measuring in at 0.7" in thickness.

It boasts a 1.6 or 1.8 ghz core duo processor and you can get it with either a a 64GB solid state drive or a 80gb hard drive. Strangely the 80gb hard disk drive only runs at 4200pm so this will clearly be the budget version as 64gb of flash isnt cheap.

Here's an unboxing video :)

If I'd known that, I wouldn't have dismissed the other bit of news I saw on this.

The white version looks really cool :D

Is 4200pm bad for a 80gb hard drive? Or just pointed out because it's much slower than flash memory?

It's not that it's bad per say. It's just that 5400 rpm is the standard speed just about every laptop comes with now and some come with 7200rpm (if you've got the cash you could always get a 10,000 rpm too).

A retail price for a 64gb flash drive is quite a lot but 80gb 4200rpm's are really cheap. For example, on ebuyer the 64gb solid state drive is £149.99 (http://www.ebuyer.com/product/146928) whereas a 80gb Sata 2.5 hard drive is £31 (http://www.ebuyer.com/product/131273) and its 5400RPM too!! So an 80gb 4200rpm will be cheaper than £30 retail and it wouldn't surprise me if large companies buy them wholesale for £10 or something.

Ooh it does look very nice! I need a light laptop like this to take to uni! Too small a hard drive though.

Man that thing looks sleek!

It reminds me of the real thin Mac, I can't recall the name of it now..But I'll stick with the regular sized laptops. Those things look too fragile and if it were to break I'd be left with something expensive to repair/replace. Still, if I could easily afford one then maybe I'd get it.
