Sony are releasing a new laptop at the end of the month and it's one hell of a laptop with an 18.4" screen and 4GB of RAM.

The price is no surprise to me, but still a shame that I'll never have it. But on the other hand, it isn't the best design.

No, it looks a little dated. It would be fine as a business laptop. The screen would be too big for me, laptops should be portable and with a screen size bigger than the one on my desktop, I think it's a little too big. Otherwise the specs are yummy, another great Sony Vaio :D.

Dated is definitely the word lol.

The mouse area and the keyboard and........yeah.

And yeah lol, even though I think a big screen is awesome, it would have its drawbacks. Imagine trying to buy a laptop bag for that one lol.

That looks pretty sweet. I remember messing about with one of the old 17" sony ar laptops the other year and it was gorgeous. Quite expensive though.

Yeah the Sony 17" ones are somesome, is why I'm excited about this :o, even though the style isn't anywhere near as good as Sony can produce.
While I think the 17" ones are awesome and this, I feel even the 17" ones look too big, so I can't wait to see this lol.

My partner's 15.4" laptop looks massive now in comparision to the Advent 4211 and I've only had it a few days. It looks like a large print book lol :p.

you can get used to the size of a laptop quite quickly.

My 8.9" laptop feels tiny after using my main laptop but I get used to it and when I go back to my standard 15.4" it looks huge!

Absolutely. Same here.

When I got mine, I used it and was fine, then I went on my computer for a bit and when I came back to the netbook, it took some adjusting. I'm kinda scared to go on my computer now because the screens even bigger than my partner's laptop lol.

I've just had a look at the Sony FW series too after an email from Sony lol, and imo looks a lot better :D. Smaller screen, but still good at 16.4" :p - http://sonybrands.com/sony-vaio-fw-series/

Wow! I want it. It is oddly designed though I agree that it looks dated.

wow, 18 inch screen on a laptop makes it a 'table top' =) I have a laptop with a 17 inch screen, its used mostly for businessy things - but It sits on the table -its too big to carry about - I also have a little Toshiba with a 14 inch screen - its fine for carrying about - its slower than the massive one, but its fine if you are going on a trip - the battery lasts long enough to watch a dvd on, and it has wifi, so you can get internet on the plane, or the train =)
