If so, you might be interested in purchasing this extremely rare Pulsar P1 Prototype LED Digital 18k watch. Only 400 of these bad boys were ever made.
Here are the auction details :
Up for auction is a vintage 1972 Pulsar P1 Prototype L.E.D. wrist watch by Hamilton U.S.A. It was the first model LED watch ever sold to the public and was hugely expensive when new, as much as a car. This is the holy grail of vintage L.E.D. and digital watches.
It is 18k solid gold and fitted with the original 18k gold bracelet dated 1971. It is in outstanding condition with the original finish on the case. The movement is the original early style movement and is working flawlessly.
It is unheard of to find one of these watches with a working first generation movement as all 400 made were recalled and most were fitted with an updated movement or melted as scrap in the late 1970s. Included with this auction is the original inner and outer silver foil box in fantastic condition. Of the two dozen P1s know to exist only 2-3 have the original box making this a once in a lifetime opportunity for the serious L.E.D. collector.
The later Pulsar P2 model was worn by James Bond in "Live and Let Die" before Q gives him the famous Rolex Submariner with rotating saw bezel. The bracelet on this P1 is a bit short and will only fit a wrist under seven inches or so. Thankfully, extra links should not be too hard to source as I understand that they are interchangeable with the much more common calculator models.
The buckle holds the gold colored "P" shaped setting magnet and has a small dent which I could not get to show up in pictures. This watch weighs too much for my 150g scale, but I can tell you it is a lot of gold. Those of you who are considering buying this watch know just how rare this is.
