The cheapest xbox machine, the 360 Arcade, has been dropped in the states to $199. This works out to be around £112. They have also dropped the pro to $299 (£169) and the elite to $399 (£225).

Lets hope these price cuts happen in the UK too. Currently the arcade costs £149.99 in the UK.

The other versions are not too much different in price. Play.com has rediced the premium from £199 to £158.97 however the elite costs £249.99.

I've currently got a Wii and a PS3 but if the 360 keeps coming down in price I'll be tempted to pick one up as their are some great bargains in their back catalogue. Though that ring of death scares me !!!:D

You should get one even if there isn't another price cut ;)
Although yes, I do agree, see if you can get it for a better bargain :D

If it does I'm sure my brother will end up with a 360 for xmas....just before his exams......great  lol (ok a year early but :p)

And yeah, the red ring is scary....just ask QueenB lol :p. Microsoft fixed it all up though even with a voided warranty :D.

I'll not rule it out but at the moment it's difficult to justify it. 3 of my best friends have 360's so I've actually played on it quite a bit. I've gotten so used to the ps3 controllers that the xbox ones feel huge but some of the 360 exclusive games are great. I though Halo 3 was overhyped (but still good) but Gears of War was quality.

I don't think you'd regret it if you did.

Before any of the next gen consoles came out, all I wanted was a PS3. Didnt want a 360 at all. I didn't like the original xbox, wasn't too bothered with a wii. Ended up buying them all. And, the 360 I played 90% of the time, so the others got sold. Ironic really, the PS3 was the one I wanted most, and certainly didn't want a 360, but now, I love my 360. Tempted to get another PS3, but, my 360 would still get the most play.

The 360 controller also being one of the things that put me off, but, I've gotten used to it. Quite nice to use, 200% better than the original xbox controller.
But, I find it to be a comfortable hold :).
PSP and PS3, my hands hurt after a while of play, but I don't get that with the 360 :).

Yeah I'm sure I'd get used to the controllers. There isn't a massive difference between the 360 and ps3 ie. there are only a few key titles which are being released on one of them (eg gears of war for the 360, metal gear solid 4 for the ps3). Most titles are mutli format now.

I've had a psp for years buy hardly play it. When it first came out I imported a white one from japan for £270 (or around that price). I played it a lot at the time but I've hardly played it in the last 2 years. However there are some great games out for it now.

Yeah, lol, main reason I sold my PS3 because of multi platform games.

Unfortunately there won't be any price drops in the UK soon apparently. Read it on a news site somewhere earlier but can't actually remember where :S.
