Might be cancelling my order for Socom

I recently pre-ordered Socom for the PS3 for £29.99. The price has went up to £34.99 and even though it comes with the upcoming PS3 headset (worth £17.99), I'm thinking about cancelling it.

But I'm still not sure.

I asked about the game over at the official EU playstation forums (http://community.eu.playstation.com/playstationeu/board/) and most people are advising against it as it has been crippled with loads of online problems. Reviews have been from average to awful but they all offer a hint of hope.

IGN says that if the connection problems and flaws are fixed it could be an amazing game. I'm probably going to get the official headset anyways so it's really only another £12 for the game...which is why I think I should take a chance with it and worst comes to worst, I'll sell it on ebay.

Still, there are some good back catalogue games available for £15 so perhaps it's not even worth the £12.

p.s. I've already got a bluetooth headset, a sony ericsson one, but the new official headset is supposed to be amazing and since I game online frequently, I think it will be worth getting.

Well I was a big fan of the orignal socom games!
Although I got into the beta of this one and I felt it was a let down and so I never ordered it. Although this socom isn't made by zipper who made the other ones so thats probably why!
Although I've ordered Resistance 2 and Call of Duty 5 for £40 so I've got enough to keep me busy!
Plus I won't be in england over xmas so I've got enough to keep me occupied!

I've got cod5 preordered as well. Can't wait.

I'm going to keep my order for socom. Most reviews are getting higher marks now now that the problems with the server are being fixed.

Now thats my kind of game! it looks so pretty, though the only problem I have with consoles and these kind of games is that I use a keyboard and a mouse - far more responsive, and hell of a lot easier to shoot people!
If you are going to buy the headset anyway, then you might as well get the game too - I'm sure they will roll out updates to the servers after a couple of months to fix any bugs that players are experiencing =)
