PC Wiimotes

Everyone who does PC gaming, usually uses the keyboard and mouse.
But, a new controller has just been released - Stix.
Stix is basically a clone of the wiimote, but for the PC, and you can be sure that Nintendo are tracking their every move as we speak.
Stix
Created by GoLive2, the controllers are rumoured to be released next month, but probably even later on for us UK livers.
I would love to play Crysis with this baby.

Call of Duty 5 : World at War

I downloaded the new Call of Duty 5 trailer a few days ago for the PS3. It’s not a particularly long clip however it does give you an idea of what to expect :)

Although I’m sure the one player game will be good, like most other gamers, it’s the multiplayer option I’m more interested in. The COD4 one player game was shorter than a child oompa loompa but thankfully the amazing multiplayer saved it from being traded after a week. As well as the addition of flamethrowers, one of the main additions to the multiplayer osection is the co-operatative option. Gamers can team up in teams of 4 and play against other teams. Vehicles are also supposed to be making a return.

I’m still surprised that after the huge success of COD4, Infinity Ward are not developing the game. The developers, Treyarch, designed Call of Duty 2 and 3 however in my opinion COD3 wasn’t a patch on 4. Either way, I’m looking forward to playing the game :)

Diablo III - Officialy Announced

After years of waiting, Blizzard have finally made us all smile - With the official heads-up for Diablo 3.
Diablo 3
The official story line goes like the following, according to Blizzard:

“Diablo III will pick up the story twenty years after the events of Diablo II. Mephisto, Diablo, and Baal have been defeated, but the Worldstone, which once shielded the inhabitants of the world of Sanctuary from the forces of both the High Heavens and the Burning Hells, has been destroyed, and evil once again stirs in Tristram. Playing as a hero from one of five distinct character classes, players will acquire powerful items, spells, and abilities as they explore new and familiar areas of Sanctuary and battle hordes of demons to safeguard the world from the horrors that have arisen. The first two characters classes — the barbarian and the witch doctor — were shown as part of the announcement at the event today in Paris.

Diablo III will feature a custom 3D-graphics engine to render lush indoor and outdoor areas of Sanctuary with a high level of detail and vivid special effects. The game’s physics-enhanced environments will be interactive and destructible, offering traps and obstacles that create added danger for players and monsters alike. These elements, along with a new quest system and random scripted events, will be integrated into the game’s random-level generator, giving Diablo III the ultimate combination of dynamic gameplay and replayability. Cooperative and competitive play will be available online through an upgraded version of Blizzard Entertainment’s renowned online gaming service, Battle.net®.”

Seems wicked to me, I’m definitely going to buy this one.

Chrono Trigger coming to DS

It looks like the rumours that Chrono Trigger is coming to the DS are true. Chrono Trigger was a hugely popular game for the SNES 13 years ago and many believe it to be one of the best RPG’s ever made.

There has been no real indication of when it will be released as yet however Square Enix Japan do have a teaser page with a ticking clock in the style of the game (the clock is actually correct!).

I think CT would be a great port to the DS. A sequal would be amazing but I’d be happy with a direct port too. :)

Rock Band 2 - Getting Ready

Rock Band 2 is set to debut sometime later this year, or possibly early next year.
The sequel we’ve all been waiting for is basically an expansion on RB1, with none of the fundamentals taken out, only things added.
RB2
There’s a hefty total of 300 songs on the new disk, and Xbox 360 owners will be trying the game first, with it being released later on for the PS3.

PS3: Movie Downloads On Their Way

PS3 hasn’t made profit yet. Instead, a £1.7 billion pound loss. So it’s no wonder the guys at Sony are working so hard to make more features, in a desperate bid for more customers.
PS3
They definitely need something to rival Xbox Live, and their betting this will be it.
Personally, I think this will fail just as hard as the PSP’s UMD Movies concept.

Xbox Handheld?

Rumors are out that Mircosoft is working frantically to produce the Xbox Handheld, by mixing their powerful Zune and the Xbox 360.
Xbox Handheld
Rumored to have a massive widescreen screen, and an attempt to run the games at an Xbox 360 standard, it seems like it will be the ‘ultimate’ portable gaming device.
Microsoft, however, denies all rumors about the Xbox Handheld.
That is, however, until it hits the shops.

New Guitar Hero Guitar

Yup, they’ve revamped the Guitar Hero guitar.
Everyone already heard and seen the brand-spanking new drum set, but it’s the guitar that has me salivating. With a rather sexy ‘Sunburst’ Bass Guitar look, it sports a new ‘touch system’ further down the fretboard, which adds an extra level of distortion, on top of the already built in whammy bar.

Looking forward to becoming the new Slash, eh?
